This is a review from my yelp account at kchandrasena.yelp.com. My parents joke that maybe I went into the wrong line of work. I just love food! Porto’s Bakery and Cake Gallery. Glendale, CA 5 out of 5 stars. When I arrived at Porto’s, I flashed back to simpler times. Instantaneously, I was seven again. It was like I was at Toys R Us for my birthday and my dad was telling me to...

Something that’s awesome about being in LA is that there’s so much good food. I love family owned businesses and places with history, particularly in LA, where trends go in and out by the season. 1.  Fosselman’s Ice Cream 2.  The Hat 3.  Mediterranean Cafe 4.  Phillipe’s 5.  Aloha Food Factory 6.  Claro’s Italian Market 7.  Vietnam Restaurant

Apple’s new iPad is essentially a 10” iTouch. Disappointing. No 3G wireless coverage.  Main feature is multitouch screen like the iPhone for full screen web browsing, pictures, books, and video. 0.5 in thick and only 1.5lbs.

This is a remarkable documentary that dissects martial arts with kinesiology and “body world” type anatomy demonstrations.  This is for science geeks that also love martial arts.  Click “view post” to see the video.  The show is called “fight science” and it’s on the national geographic channel and hulu. The first 30-45 minutes are what’s worth...

On Wed, Apple will reveal their new tablet.  Supposedly this is the next big thing. The cynical side of me thinks that this will be an oversized Itouch.  The technogeek in me hopes that it’ll give us the futuristic world in back to the future II. I’ve got a few questions in the back of my mind: Will they create applications that allow us to interact with existing equipment in our...

Sister: You should have that empanada in the oven. It's really good!
Me: What's wrong with it?
Sister: Nothing. It's really good.
Me: Lies! If it were really good, you would have eaten it!

Domino's new pizza.
Since Christmas, Domino’s has been marketing their new improved recipe.  I was curious about that.  The sauce, cheese, and crust are all much, much more flavorful.  It features a garlic crust, a slightly spiced tomato sauce, and real cheese.  The drawback?  The crust has more garlic and butter than “crazy bread” from little caesars, so the aftertaste of the garlic is...

Great article by Rottentomatoes.com about the best films of the decade.  They have several lists based on genre.  From those lists, I absolutely love Ghost World, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Shaun of the Dead.  There are several films in there that I’m looking forward to add to my netflix queue.

Must see films:
With the nominations for the Golden Globes out, the Oscar season is officially started.  So right now is the time of year that studios tend to release their award-worthy films.  So many movies to see!  Here’s my short list: Avatar. My must see.  I’m going to see it this weekend in IMAX 3D.  James Cameron is a brilliant filmmaker and this film is reputed to have the most amazing special effects...
