On Wed, Apple will reveal their new tablet. Supposedly this is the next big thing. The cynical side of me thinks that this will be an oversized Itouch. The technogeek in me hopes that it’ll give us the futuristic world in back to the future II. I’ve got a few questions in the back of my mind:
- Will they create applications that allow us to interact with existing equipment in our homes?
- Will Itunes begin to sell ebooks for tablets?
- Will it have free, built in 3G WiFi like the Amazon Kindle?
- Will it make photoediting and medical documentation easier and more convenient?
- Will it be as annoying to type e-mails on this as it is to type on an iphone?
Both Microsoft and Apple confidently believe in the potential of tablet PCs. Microsoft talked about it for all of last decade and made it their primary focus with Windows 7. Let’s see what Apple brings to the table on Wednesday.
