This is a remarkable documentary that dissects martial arts with kinesiology and “body world” type anatomy demonstrations.  This is for science geeks that also love martial arts.  Click “view post” to see the video.  The show is called “fight science” and it’s on the national geographic channel and hulu.

The first 30-45 minutes are what’s worth watching.  It features the effectiveness of jujitsu, ninjitsu, boxing, karate, and taekwondo on generating knockout power, deadly force, and internal damage.  It’s everything you need to know so that you could become a deadly ninja. =)

The last 45 minutes focuses on the use of weapons with martial arts and it’s slower paced and it’s kinda obvious. (Yes…if you hit someone with a katana, it’ll be deadly).

There’s another episode of this that focuses on MMA.   If this type of thing interests you, then you could check that episode and future episodes on hulu.
